It's The End

Finally, the end is here. The end of the year, the last day of the year. And what a way it's to end the year - with such a great impact. I'm referring to the great disaster caused by the tsunami. As I had said before, 'Man proposes, God disposes'. Who in the world would expect such a calamity to strike at a time when everybody is busy preparing for the arrival of the new year. To many of those holidaying along the affected beaches, it was indeed a tragic end. One moment, the children were playing happily on the sand, the next moment they were engulfed by the unsuspecting waves and swept out into the open sea. What have the innocent children done to deserve such a punishment? They could have stepped on some seashells or even killed a hermit crab or two but to die such a horrible death is simply unjustifiable. Though we are located pretty close to the affected countries, we came off unscathed, at least physically. What have we done then to deserve such blessings? Whatever the reasons, I have learnt not to take life for granted but to enjoy every minute, every second of it while I still can. I won't know how I will make my departure but I know I have not wasted my time here on earth or at least that is what I thought. Have you made full use of your life before it's gone for good? Do take some time to reflect upon the things that you have done for this year and how you are going to make use of the coming year.
May you all have a Fruitful and Wonderful 2005.
